Welcome to the Vienna City Triathlon

 Announcement Sprint/Olympic Distance

Date: 30th May 2015

Location: Vienna Donauinsel, next to Reichsbrücke, lighthouse.

The Start and Finish are situated next to the lighthouse beyond the Reichsbrücke.

Start Sprint: 11 AM

Start Half: 12:30 PM

Distance Sprint:
0.75 km - 21 km - 5 km
Distance Olympic:
1.5 km - 42 km - 10 km 

Starting fee until 8th May 2015 incl. day licence:

Sprint 50.- EUR
Olympic  60.- EUR

The registration and the fee need to arrive at the event organizers at the same time. Unpaid registrations will not be processed. You cannot register by phone.

Registration deadline: 8th May 2015!
Registration forms which are going to sent after the 8th May 2015 (post stamp) will have a late fee of 10.- EUR if there are any starting positions available.

Field limit:
Attention: the starting area is limited to 1.000 participants. The starting positions will be assigned after registrations have been handed in.

Payment and starting fee:
1. With creditcard (Visa or Mastercard/Eurocard).
2. With a one-off direct debit (for participants with an Austrian or German bank account)
The accounting will made by PENTEK-timing Ltd. By order and for account of the organizer.
The registration and the fee need to arrive at the event organizers at the same time. Unpaid registrations will not be processed. You cannot register by phone.

If a registered participant can't take part in the Vienna City Triathlon -  for whatever reason - there is no claim for refund of starting fee. Therefore we recommend to contract a starting-fee insurance.

Timekeeping:
All participants who do not own a yellow ChampionChip, will get a green chip for 4.- EUR rent (please tender the exact fee). The Kids will get orange Chips for free. The chip is registered to one person and is intransferable.
The Chip is to fix with an hook-and-loop tape.

All Chips needs to be returned after the run.

The time measuring device can only read yellow, orange and green Chips.

In terms of environmental awareness and and recycling we kindly ask you to return the chips. For that you will find a returnable container after the finish line.

The starter package contains:
1 start number, 1 bike number, 1 helmet number, 1 swimming cap, 1 Polo Shirt

How to reach:
By car:
From the 22nd district, A22 Donauufer motorway, Exit Reichsbrücke.
From the 2nd district, Handelskai until Reichsbrücke.
We recommend to use the free car park New Donau middle (A22 Exit Kaisermühlen) with a walking distance of 5 min to the Reichsbrücke.

By underground:
U1 until the station Donauinsel, exit Donauinsel.

Car parks:
Car park New Donau middle (free)
Car park Reichsbrücke (chargeable), Car park Cineplex (chargeable), Car park DDSG Handelskai (chargeable).

Starting documents and chips issuing:
Pick up start numbers at our registration desk at the Vienna Donnauinsel, near the finish line area / changing area, next to the light house and Reichsbrücke  on 29th May 2015 from 5 PM to 7 PM and on 30th May 2015 from 8 AM to one hour before the start time.

Transfer of start numbers on other persons (change of names) isn't allowed for organisational and safety-related reasons. 

Late registrations if there are still some places:
On 29th May 2015 from 5 to 7 PM and on 30thMay 2015 from 8 AM to 10 AM. The fee for a late registration is additional 10.- EUR.

Distance Sprint:
Swimming 0.75 km:
1 lap of 0.75 km. Swimming starts at the pedestrian crossing below the Reichsbrücke.  After swimming the participants run to the transition zone and cycle four laps on Donauinsel.

Biking 21 km, flat circuit: 
2 lap of 10.5 km. Drafting is forbidden. The course is situated on the flat, completely blocked Donauinsel and between the Reichsbrücke and the Steinspornbrücke.
After 2 laps the participants return to the transition zone.

Running 5 km, flat course with a turning point:
2 laps of 2.5 km from the transition zone below the Reichsbrücke up to the Nordbahnbrücke.

Aid stations:
Refreshments for runners, each 2.5 km.
On the running course there is 1 refreshment point. There is water and Powerade.

Refreshments at the end: Beyond the finishing line there will be plenty of refreshments for all participants.

Distance Olympic:
Swimming 1.5 km:
2 laps of 0,75 km. Swimming starts at the pedestrian crossing below the Reichsbrücke. The participants swim 2 laps (triangular course) without leaving the water. After swimming the participants run to the transition zone and cycle four laps on Donauinsel.

Biking 42 km, flat circuit:
4 laps of 10.5 km. Drafting is forbidden. The course is situated on the flat, completely blocked Donauinsel and between the Reichsbrücke and the Weir 2.
After the four laps the participants return to the transition zone. Each competitor is responsible for counting the laps.

Running 10 km, flat course with a turning point:
4 laps of 2,5 km from the transition zone below the Reichsbrücke up to the Brigittenauer Brücke.

Aid stations:
Refreshments for runners, each 2,5 km. On the running course there are 1 refreshment point. There is water, Powerade, gel.

Refreshments at the end: Beyond the finishing line there will be plenty of refreshments for all participants.

Finish:
The finish is next to the transition zone beyond the Lighthouse. The clearly structured race course offers the spectators an overview of the whole competition.

Gift:
Every finisher receives a finisher medal.

Presentation ceremony:
Sprint: 01:00 PM near finish line area
Olympic: 04.30 PM near finish line area
Cups for the first three athletes in all categories.

Competition rules:
Protest time:
An hour after the official results are announced, in written form (using an ÖTRV form), having with a protest fee of 25.- EUR when the start numbers were distributed.

Result lists:
on the internet at www.viennacitytriathlon.at .

Day license:
Participants without a valid year license from ÖTRV have to buy a day license for 6.- EUR (it is included in the starting fee). Owners of an ÖTRV year license will receive 6.- EUR when they collect the starting numbers and when they can show the year license.

Liability:
• The event organizers or any other persons involved in the event will not be liable for accidents, injuries, thefts or damages to a person or object, whatever caused. 
• Each participant (or their guardian) confirms clearly with the registration that he/she takes part at one´s own risk and carries the complete responsibility. Each participant and guardian has been informed of the health - and other risks of the competition. He/she will not make any demands from the event organizer or anyone else involved in the event. With the registration, the participant accepts the competition rules and any changes set by the ÖRTV.

Mondial ALL-RISK Insurance

The insurance covers the starting-fee only. Additional services (e.g. T-Shirt, Transfer-Ticket, day license, etc.) are not covered.

You will get the certificate of insurance to your email address.

Afterwards you have to send the confirmation (from doctor, public office, employer...) of your cause of cancellation to Mondial ALL-RISK Insurance.

There is no possibility to get insurance benefit if the cancellation cause is: get tired of participation, war, terror, natural disaster e.g. flooding, epidemic, instruction of higher authority etc.
