Announcement Sprint/Half Distance

Location: Vienna Donauinsel, next to Reichsbrücke, lighthouse.
Start Sprint: 10 am

2 km - 90 km - 20 km

Registration deadline: 18th May 2012!
Registration forms which are going to sent after the 18th May 2012 (post stamp) will have a late fee of 10 EUR if there are any starting positions available.
Field limit:
Attention: the starting area is limited to 400 participants. The starting positions will be assigned after registrations have been handed in.
Payment and starting fee:
1. With creditcard (Visa or Mastercard/Eurocard).
2. With a one-off direct debit (for participants with an Austrian or German bank account)
The accounting will made by PENTEK-timing Ltd. By order and for account of the organizer.
The registration and the fee need to arrive at the event organizers at the same time. Unpaid registrations will not be processed. You cannot register by phone. If a registered participant can't take part for any reason, the fee will not be refunded.
Timekeeping:
Pentek Timing with a Champion Chip. All participants who do not own a chip, can obtain a yellow chip for 33 EUR (30.- EUR deposit + 3.- EUR rent) when the start numbers are distributed. The chip is registered to one person and isn´t transferable.
The deposit will be refunded when the chip is handed in at the end of the competition. Chips which are not returned are automatically bought and can be used worldwide.
Without a chip the time will not be measured.
The starter package contains:
1 start number, 1 bike number, 1 helmet number, 1 swimming cap, 1 T-Shirt
How to reach:
By car:
From the 22nd district, A22 Donauufer motorway, Exit Reichsbrücke.
From the 2nd district, Handelskai until Reichsbrücke.
We recommend to use the free car park New Donau middle (A22 Exit Kaisermühlen) with a walking distance of 5min to the Reichsbrücke.
By underground:
U1 until the station Donauinsel, exit Donauinsel.

Car park Reichsbrücke (chargeable), Car park Cineplex (chargeable), Car park DDSG Handelskai (chargeable).
Starting documents and chips issuing:
Pick up start numbers at BOOTSHAUS on 27th May 2011 from 5 pm to 7 pm and on 28th May 2011 from 8 am to one hour before the start time.
Start and Finish are situated next to the lighthouse beyond the Reichsbrücke.
Transfer of start numbers on other persons (change of names) isn't´ allowed for the organisational and safety-related reasons.
Late registrations if there are still some places:
On 1th June 2012 from 5 to 7 pm and on 2th June 2012 from 8 am to 10 am. The fee for a late registration is additional 10 EUR.

Swimming: 1h 10min
Swimming/Biking: 5h 00min
Swimming/Biking/Running: 8h 00min
Distance Sprint:
Swimming 0.75 km:
1 lap of 0.75 km. Swimming starts at the pedestrian crossing below the Reichsbrücke. After swimming the participants run to the transition zone and cycle four laps on Donauinsel.
Biking 22.5 km, flat circuit:
1 lap of 22.5 km. Drafting is forbidden. The course is situated on the flat, completely blocked Donauinsel and between the Reichsbrücke and the Weir 2.
After one lap the participants return to the transition zone.
Running 5 km, flat course with a turning point:
2 laps of 2.5 km from the transition zone below the Reichsbrücke up to the Nordbahnbrücke.
Aid stations:
Refreshments for runners, each 2.5 km.
On the running course there is 1 refreshment point. There is water, Powerade, Cola.
Refreshments at the end: Beyond the finishing line there will be plenty of refreshments for all participants.
Distance Half:
Swimming 2 km:
2 laps of 1 km. Swimming starts at the pedestrian crossing below the Reichsbrücke. The participants swim 2 laps (triangular course) without leaving the water. After swimming the participants run to the transition zone and cycle four laps on Donauinsel.
Biking 90 km, flat circuit:
4 laps of 22.5 km. Drafting is forbidden. The course is situated on the flat, completely blocked Donauinsel and between the Reichsbrücke and the Weir 2.
After the four laps the participants return to the transition zone. Each competitor is responsible for counting the laps.
Running 20 km, flat course with a turning point:
5 laps of 4 km from the transition zone below the Reichsbrücke up to the Nordbahnbrücke.
Aid stations:
Refreshments for cyclists, each 22.5 km.
On the bike course there is 1 refreshment point. There is water, powerade and bananas.
Refreshments for runners, each 2 km.
On the running course there are 2 refreshment points. There is water, Powerade, Cola, Bananas, Muesli bars from Anker, Squeezi Gel.
Refreshments at the end: Beyond the finishing line there will be plenty of refreshments for all participants.
Finish:
The finish is next to the transition zone beyond the Lighthouse. The clearly structured race course offers the spectators an overview of the whole competition.
Gift:
Every finisher receives a finisher T-shirt and a medal.
Presentation ceremony/prize money:
Sprint: 12 pm at BOOTSHAUS
Half: 06.30 pm at BOOTSHAUS
Cups for the first three athletes in all categories.
Prize money: 2,000 EUR
Prize money women: 1. place 500 EUR, 2. Place 300 EUR, 3. Place 200 EUR
Prize money man: 1. place 500 EUR, 2. Place 300 EUR, 3. Place 200 EUR

Protest time:
An hour after the official results are announced, in written form (using an ÖTRV form), having with a protest fee of 25 EUR when the start numbers were distributed.

Day license:
Participants without a valid year license from ÖTRV have to buy a day license for 5 EUR (it is included in the starting fee). Owners of an ÖTRV year license will receive 5 EUR when they collect the starting numbers and when they can show the year license.

• Each participant (or their guardian) confirms clearly with the registration that he/she takes part at one´s own risk and carries the complete responsibility. Each participant and guardian has been informed of the health - and other risks of the competition. He/she will not make any demands from the event organizer or anyone else involved in the event. With the registration, the participant accepts the competition rules and any changes set by the ÖRTV.
